The Greatest Play In Baseball History?

On April 25, 1976, Rick Monday of the Chicago Cubs made what some people call the greatest play in baseball history. Here’s what happened.

“If you’re going to burn the flag, don’t do it around me. I’ve been to too many veterans’ hospitals and seen too many broken bodies of guys who tried to protect it.” ~ Rick Monday

I doubt a player for the Chicago Cubs ever received an ovation from Los Angeles fans quite like that one.

What’s that, you say? Haven’t heard of my USA History Guy channel yet? Well, head on over and subscribe to get short videos on all sorts of topics in American history. And I take requests!
