Is There Anybody Who Hasn’t Seen This Film?

This has to be the most watched movie in history right?

This year marks the 75th anniversary of The Wizard of Oz, a movie burrowed deeper into our cultural conscience than almost any other. Urban legends and spinoffs and remakes, oh my.

I’m sure there are people who have not watched the adventures of Dorothy and her friends the Scarecrow, Tinman, and Cowardly Lion. I’m just not sure I know any of those folks.

Whether you’ve managed to never watch this classic or you have every line memorized, my friend Melissa Tagg and I researched all sorts of fun info for you in this week’s Classic Movie Gush.

  • Did a little person really commit suicide during one of the scenes?
  • Did Pink Floyd really sync up Darkside of the Moon to the film?
  • Which two famous actors nearly died making the film and how?

Learn about those and more if you like in this week’s video.

By the way, you might be thinking 20 minutes plus is too long for a video. Fair enough. Stay tuned as we convert all our gushes into podcast form so you can learn about the classics anytime, anyplace. Coming soon!

When was the first time you saw The Wizard of Oz? If you haven’t, why not?
