It’s National Banned Books Week.
The whole topic can be a little crazy. I don’t think we need to ban books (unless they open inter-dimensional portals allowing Bad Things to enter our world), but I definitely understand why Certain Books need not be in the grade school library. On the other hand, one of the most “challenged” grade school books in the last year is Captain Underpants, which should be required reading for all people everywhere.
The sci-fi blog Darkcargo shared a link to a Banned Book Personality test, where you can find out what banned book you are!
I’m Things Fall Apart by Chinua Achebe, a book which I love. The description is a little weird, as Things Fall Apart is all about Africa, and has nothing to do with my chi. On the other hand I TOTALLY STAND STRONG AGAINST THE IMPERIALISTS!
How about you? Share what banned book you are in the comments. Or tell us a story about you and banned books.

I am American Psycho by Bret Easton Ellis. Apparently I’m a “yuppie with a dark side who is good at keeping up appearances.” 😉
Fun stuff Matt.
This makes perfect sense to me, Clay. 🙂
Grapes of Wrath: brushes with the law but I fight for social justice and the dignity of others
I’m ‘The Grapes of Wrath’ also. I just want everyone to be able to eat! 😉
I’ll play. I got Slaughterhouse Five. Apparently I’m haunted by my memories of war. And unstuck in time. So it goes.
